Wellbeing at Abingdon
At Abingdon, the care and wellbeing of our students comes first. Each of our students is both a member of a House and belongs to a tutor group. Their tutor acts as the conduit between student, teacher and home and ensures we never lose sight of the individual.

Promoting your child's positive mental health and wellbeing is very much a partnership between the school and home. To help support you at home we invite you to join our exciting new Wellbeing Hub as detailed below. Do please register for this! Please also look out for regular mailings that explain the programme of study for students as they move through the school and how you can reinforce these lessons at home.
Creating an environment that nurtures pupils’ mental health and wellbeing is a key priority for us at Abingdon School.
To help us do this, we have invested in The Wellbeing Hub, developed by child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing experts, Teen Tips. We are delighted to let you know that, as an Abingdon parent or carer, you are entitled to free access, and we highly recommend you take the opportunity to register and start using these resources. The Wellbeing Hub is an interactive online portal, designed to help you understand and meet your child’s social and emotional needs. We believe it will be an invaluable source of information and support for our whole school community.
Furthermore, you can find a guided video tour of The Wellbeing Hub here and a visual guide linked here.
If you have any specific queries about access, please contact the team at info@teentips.co.uk. We hope that you find The Wellbeing Hub beneficial for your family and welcome your feedback.

With growing pressure on our young people, our Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnerships focus on a cross partnership approach for prevention and early intervention for mental health related issues. We aim to support students, their families and staff with a range of support. These include webinars, toolkits, training for staff and peer mentoring training for students. Our Partnership work gives students and staff the opportunities to share experiences and best practice to help promote positive mental health and wellbeing in the local community.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Coordinator and other colleagues provide support for students at partner schools looking at understanding and managing stress and anxiety, strategies for low mood and lack of motivation, and building self esteem. Parent webinars include online safety and managing emotions. We also deliver ‘preparing for puberty’ workshops for years 4-6 at local schools and provide support to the schools with parent webinars on the topic of RSHE and puberty. We deliver several assemblies including ‘managing big feelings’ for KS1 and ‘diversity: what is normal?’ for KS2.
