Old Abingdonian Ben Macintyre – historian, bestselling author, and associate editor, columnist and writer at large for The Times – was welcomed back to Abingdon on Thursday 23 March 2023 to talk about his latest book Colditz: Prisoners of the Castle.

Ben gave an enthralling, often humorous but thought provoking inside story of life in this infamous German prison for allied officers and its less well known history which resonated with many issues of today.
