Will d'Arcy (2023) has just spent ten days in Austria, training and completing the first of a series of qualifying races for the GB team to compete at the Junior World Winter Biathlon Championships.
The Winter Biathlon combines cross-country skiing with rifle marksmanship. Contestants must cover a cross-country course, carrying their rifle at all times, stopping at intervals in the firing ranges to shoot at five targets. They are required to shoot from both a prone and standing position. Will is currently spending his gap year working as a member of Abingdon Prep School’s Sports Department.
