For many pupils, their university entrance interview is their first-ever interview. Interview preparation is one of the most useful skills a school can help pupils to develop. When pupils know what to expect in an interview, they are less nervous and more able to be themselves.

OAs are invited to help with the following interview evenings in Michaelmas Term:

Medic Interviews Evening

Thursday 14 November 2024, 6.00pm-8.30pm (TBC)

A mock interviews evening designed specifically for U6 pupils who are applying to Medical School. OAs who work in the medical profession – especially those who have experience of interviewing students for Medical School – are invited to volunteer. If you would like to volunteer at this event, please contact Ben Whitworth (Head of Biology and teacher in charge of advising students on Medical School applications) at ben.whitworth@abingdon.org.uk.

Oxbridge Interviews Familiarisation Evening

Friday 15 November 2024, 6.30pm-8.30pm 

A workshop for U6 pupils who are applying to Oxbridge to help them prepare for interview and critique their personal statement. OAs who have recently interviewed for Oxbridge or who have experience of giving university interviews (including Oxbridge) are invited to volunteer.
