Diana, wife of former Classics Master John Griffin, was a beloved and active presence in the School community. As was common at the time, she took on a significant, if unofficial, role in School life. David Taylor (former teacher of French and Russian) recalls, "She was a key figure in the School community and her love of drama and history was infectious." She loved the theatre, and played an important role in the Abingdon Drama Club, and she also loved traveling to countries associated with Ancient Greek and Roman history. It helped, of course, that these countries also had blissful climates! When John died, Diana remained close with a wide circle of friends who shared similar interests and connections with the School. She also shared a love of poetry with David and many others. Diana is remembered by her children, Michael and Meg.
